  1. Perhaps you might contact Christine Force born in Arksey and lives on Marsh Lane -a member of the Senior family who have lived in Arksey for many years and may have photos etc -Her grandfather was 'Sandy Senior'from Ings Lane.
Her and I were childhood friends and are now related by marriage - should you contact her perhaps remember me to her.regards Liz Curtis nee Robinson.

  3. Hi Alison,If you look at where the photos were taken, they were all taken by the same school photographer on the same day. Thus my class photo should be dated 1971 like the rest, rather than early 1970's, Howard

  4. mr connel,I was at Arksey school the next term 1972.If my memory is correct Ms Barker was my first teacher and you were my last one.
If my memory serves me correctly again, did you marry a teacher at the school ms Green?

    2. Hi Adrian, Yes Miss Barker would be your first teacher,as she was for everybody who started Arksey school in the time I was there. She only ever taught the reception class.
I can remember you being in my class but, but I don't think it was the final year. That was usually taught by either Ann Ramshaw/Fogg or Gordon Evans.
No, I didn't marry Karen Green although I admit she was very attractive. My wife Janice is an Askern girl and I met her much later whilst teaching in Askern.

  6. Hi Alison. I too atended old Arksey school between 1968 - 1972. Teachers Barker Spence & Toomer. I Always cherish memories of the place whenever I drive past it as it was the best start in life for those fortunate to have gone there. Gail Inglesfield was in my final class - remember her tiny crammed jottings impressing Miss Toomer lol! STEPHEN BARTLEY.

  7. Hi Alison
The photograph marked "unknown location" with the horse and cart during the floods is taken at the junction of Almholme Lane and Marsh Lane - the wall belongs to Arksey Hall as was. The cart is right in front of where the postbox now stands.

    Hope this helps
