Other Church Notes

The Taxatio Ecclesiastica Anglia and Wallie (Venus Valor on Taxation of Pope Nicholas) was a tax granted on all temporal possessions of religious persons to Edward I (about 1288-1291) in aid of the expenses of a crusade and gives values of all the properties and rents by all ecclesiastical bodies to the various deaneries.
(Record office, public).

Nothing but amounts and names of places are given but it is very valuable as giving a skeleton rent roll of the possessions of Priories etc at this early period. W. Rye.
(Quotation W. Rye, records and recorded searching).

S'cus Oswaldus Ecclia de Arkseye £40.
(Taxatio Eccles page 300).
